For years, Rockaway resident Robert Kaskel and his wife, Metta, had a dream – to open a local restaurant that would provide the best in Thai food and the best in music to the peninsula’s residents.

Now, that dream has come true with the recent opening of Thai Rock at 375 Beach 92 Street, right across the driveway from McDonald’s on Beach Channel Drive.

Thai Rock promises the best in meals and snacks served from noon until late at night. And, it promises the best in music as well, with live performances and Karaoke most nights. Sunday night is Jazz night at Thai Rock.

The Kaskels urge residents to come by car, bike or boat. There is also a free Rockaway shuttle bus from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Valet service is available on Fridays and Saturdays as well.

With a large outdoor deck overlooking Jamaica Bay, Thai Rock promises a relaxing atmosphere and beautiful sunsets.
