Area residents got a chance to explore Bayswater’s Norton Basin when the Parks Department hosted a Canoeing With the Rangers program on June 9. Eighty-nine people signed up for the event at Bayswater Park. All participants were given instructions in canoeing techniques and safety precautions by department Urban Rangers. The Norton Basin is part of the New York City Water Trail, where those with a permit can launch their boats.
