Howard Beach Library To Close Temporarily

Photo courtesy Queens Library Due to scheduled work to replace the roof, the Queens Library has announced that the Howard Beach Library, located at 92-06 156 Avenue, will close on July 25 until the end of August.

According to a press release, while the library is closed, “The book bus will provide limited service on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning the week of August 1. During the closure or at any time, library customers are invited to use any Queens Library location.

The closest to Howard Beach are in Broad Channel at 16-26 Cross Bay Boulevard (featuring a 24/7 exterior book return) or in Ozone Park at 92-24 Rockaway Boulevard.”

Library patrons can also renew materials online at www.queens.library.org or by calling 718-990-8508.

Funding for the renovations to the Howard Beach Library came from Councilman Eric Ulrich and Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Additional work on the library will continue after it reopens.
