3rd Annual ‘Rockaway Youth Day’

By John Weber

On Sunday, August 7, Ocean Village Tenants Association (O.V.T.A.) and D&D Invitational are having their 3rd Annual “Rockaway Youth Day” event at 110 Beach 59 Street. Last year over 244 kids were in attendance to enjoy the give-away toys and prizes.

This year the O.V.T.A. seeks the public’s help in exceeding that number. This one-day event will be full of recreational games and entertainment for boys and girls from the ages of 4- to 16- years-of-age. Also, it will bring together new neighbors who’ve recently moved into the Rockaway area to meet and greet the rest of the community. There will be free food and beverages for all who attend. D&D and the O.V.T.A. are asking for contributions of foods: sandwiches, appetizers, burgers, franks, baked goods, snacks, etc.; and giveaway prizes for the kids: toys, bikes, school supplies, video games systems. Any offerings or contributions of your service will be greatly appreciated and will not go unnoticed, said a spokesperson for the event.

Please call Bryan Pearson (917-299- 6652) or Coach Du (347-601-2750). Any contributor will be mentioned over a loud PA system during the entire event.
