Teams Named For St. Francis Summer Classic

Rain cancelled the launch of the Men’s Open division on Thursday, June 23, but it got off the ground on Monday, June 27. This year’s lineup consists of 12 teams including defending champions Belle Harbor Steakhouse. The contenders are Slices & Ices, Ludwig’s Catering, Rock Park All-Stars, Only Shirts and Pants, Caiazzo Plumbing, Jameson’s, Quigley Insurance, Irish Circle, ICAP, Bungalow Bar, and Last.

Tuesday was glorious as most of the other divisions began. The Boys Grammar Junior opened the night. The teams are T. Moriarty & Son, www.Pro1tires.com, Blue Bear Risk Management, Ram Abstract Title Services, McManus Mechanical, VRCTax.com, Buckley’s Caterers, and The Greene Machine.

The Boys Grammar Middle teams are The Storage Place, Boarders Surf Shop, Rockaway Little League, Curran’s Superior Meats, Station Liquors, Plum Tomat-oes, Rockaway Jetty, and Kill, Wood, Ace, & Mann.

Boys Grammar Senior consists of Cyberzone Gym, Ameritag, J & E Industries, Melons, Kennedy’s Restaurant, Walsh Properties, Graybeards, and The Irish Circle.

In the Boys High School division are Coastal Real Estate, Grayriders.com, Dr. Schilling’s POD’s, BRS Bullets, JG Electrical Installations, Breen Electric, Belle Harbor Physical Therapy, and the Orangemen.

The second grade is into its second week and the teams are Ridgewood Savings Bank, Adams & Company, Denis S. O’Connor, Inc., and Cross County Savings Bank.

The Girls Grammar Junior began on Wednesday and the teams are Ram Abstract Title Services, Carvel, Mulolin Basketball Camp, Rockaway W.I.S.H., Rockaway Beach Digital and Design, Flynn & Flynn, Harbor Optics, and Ludwig’s Sand-Witches.

The Girls Grammar Senior teams are T. Moriarty & Son, Belle Harbor Chemists, Kimball Construction, The Wave, Walsh Management, and the Belle Harbor Yacht Club.

The Women’s Open has consolidated into one division and the teams are Boardwalk Bagel, Irish Circle, Jameson’s, Harbor Light, and Bungalow Bar.

The Girls High School division is still being put together and teams include R. Tyne Painting, Animal Hospital of the Rockaways, and the Betty Boops.

The new lights have received great reviews and with the concession stand opening on Tuesday, the 27th edition of the St. Francis Summer Classic will be in full swing and looking at its best season ever. Games are Monday through Thursday at 5:45 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 8:15 p.m. SFDS invites all to “come on over to the Fr. Grogan Memorial Schoolyard.”
