Rockies Hosting Free Roller Hockey Clinics

The Rockaway Rockies Hockey Club will be offering free roller hockey clinics at the hockey rink located on Shorefront Parkway and Beach 109 Street on Saturday mornings throughout the month of July.

The clinics will start on Saturday, July 9 and run from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 11:00 a.m. They are going to start the clinic with a “Girls Day on the Rink.” Girls between the ages of 5- to14-years are invited on July 9.

On Saturday, July 16, the clinic will be open to boys and girls between the ages of 5-9 years. On Saturday, July 23, the clinic will be open for boys and girls between the ages of 10-14 years and the clinics will be capped off on Saturday, July 30 and will be open for all boys and girls between the ages of 5-14 years.

The clinics will be run by the coaching staff of the Rockaway Rockies Hockey Club. They are being offered as part of the Rockies’ “pay it forward” campaign to thank the community for helping renovate the surface of the hockey rink.

All children must bring their own equipment (i.e. helmet with cage, skates, elbow pads, shin guards, gloves, etc.).

Registration for each clinic will be at 8:30 a.m. but come early to get your children dressed in their equipment.
