The Rockaway Little League 10U district tournament team kicked things off in a big way by thumping RGMVM, 15-4. The bats came alive early and often when the Rockaway Little League all stars scored 11 runs in the first inning. Joe Braskey led the way going 3-for-3 with six RBIs. Jack Casey went 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Kevin Erhard (pictured) had a bases clearing triple in the first inning. Timmy Connolly pitched three strong innings for the win and Erhard closed things out with a 1-2-3 fourth inning. All the boys contributed in some way by either getting on base and scoring runs like John Resker, Chris Koenig, Robbie Rose and Brian Macdonald, or by playing strong defense like John Moran, Brendan Gallagher, TJ Powderly, James Byrne, Ryan Duffy and Jack Mullally. The finals are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. this Tuesday, July 5 at Fort Tilden. The RLL invites all to, “Please come down and support our team!!” The Rockaway Little League 10U district tournament team kicked things off in a big way by thumping RGMVM, 15-4.
