A New Job For Weiner

Dear Editor,

The night that Anthony Weiner resigned, the rain started, and the skies cried all night and the day after. Anthony Weiner has never hesitated to serve the elderly, the poor, the middle class or the sick 9/11 responders. He should run for upcoming vacant jobs in Queens or run for City Council, or the U.S. Senate. He should not worry about leaving the “House of Lunatics” which is still trying to hurt America! It is my personal opinion that the elderly and U.S. veterans in the Rockaway, Queens community would love to have Weiner represent us in government, anywhere! Yes, he made a mistake, but he did not commit crimes, which some people have who are STILL IN GOVERNMENT.

Was Anthony Weiner set up because he wanted to run for Mayor? We can only guess. But at least he DOES NOT advocate destroying our schools, destroying our fire services, driving millions of people, including the elderly and Middle Class out of their own state.

He does not advocate turning New York into a town only for the super rich. He is not afraid to help all the people at any given time.

He helped first responders to get millions of dollars for health care, when all the rest of Congress was placing this issue on the back burner, and when Republicans said “No,” even though over 300 first responders had died because they helped with the cleanup of the World Trade Center. Some good deeds deserve a reward of the spirit as well as a reward of returned kindness. He should not have resigned.

Therapy can cure his illness, but it may take more than therapy to cure the disease of the new breed of Republicans who nearly destroyed our country for eight years and are continuing to do so. If Weiner does not run for Mayor, only the rich may be able to stay in New York City, which will be a shame.

A clear case of liberal

A clear case of liberal myopia. Weiner brought shame on himself and party, due to his own perversion, hubris and narcissism.

You may like him, but even Nancy Pelosi--who has never called for the ousting of a democrat--demanded Weiner step down.

To date, Weiner has not taken responsibly for his actions and wouldn't have had he not been caught in a lie. He lied to the media, his constituents, his fellow democrats and his wife.

Those in the 9th district have every reason to loath this poor excuse for a representative as it is very likely that his insipid exercise in solicitation, has pretty much put nails in the coffin and dug the hole for our district which will now be subdivided amongst those who have little interest in supporting what will be--more or less--an footnote to their present districts.

Weiner has never held a job outside politics and sound bites. He has no degree, and legislatively has contributed little to nothing to congressional law making. Sure, he was a loud and an obnoxious defender of things left. Beyond his decibels, little else of value remains.

He will not be mayor and will end up, in most likelihood a overpaid bureaucratic functionary at the business of some die hard democrat supporter who got special consideration during Weiner's tenure. I say good riddance to him, just as the citizens of NY have, his former congressional peers and the media en masse.
