Rockaway’s Business Opportunity Center Hosts Graduation
The Business Outreach Center Network, Inc. (BOC) in collaboration with the Blanche Community Progressive Day Care held a graduation ceremony on Monday, June 13 for the Child Care Business Development Project (CCBDP). Thirteen individuals completed an intensive nine-week, 45-hour comprehensive program of business training and professional support.
This training is provided by BOC through their Child Care Business Development Project (CCBDP), which helps licensed or unlicensed home-based child care providers plan and run a successful and well-managed child care business. Home-based child care providers are fully licensed and inspected by New York State and must complete a minimum of 30 hours of child care education and training each year. Upon completion of the CCBDP training, the graduates will earn 12 hours, which can be applied to the hours required by New York State.
Councilman James Sanders Jr., who has continuously supported the child care training, allocated the funding that allowed the course to be free to the community.
The graduates were presented with citations from Sanders and Councilman Leroy Comrie, Jr.
