Wave Wrong On Weiner

Dear Editor,

I can’t believe you told your readers that you wanted Congressman Weiner to remain in office simply because he made amends to his constituents on National Television.

You certainly knew that he lied numerous times including to the press and his fellow Congressmen. Even his apology on TV involved a lie when he stated none of the women he contacted were under age.

We have to stop looking for excuses to defend our representatives who engage in vile, vulgar and lewd behavior. What are we telling our children if we say it is perfectly proper for a U.S. Congressman to remain in office even though he sent an x-rated picture of himself to young women, engaged in filthy and vulgar messages to young women and even communicated to young teenage girls. Do we not have any moral standards anymore? At what point do we say enough is enough and you’ve got to resign?

We should start getting back some of our moral values that America once had and that made this country stand out from the rest of the world. Let us not be so na├»ve to accept as an apology “I am sorry” – I made a mistake, I didn’t know what I was thinking or I had a mental lapse of judgment. Of course, they all knew what they were doing. So let’s stand tall and not be afraid to voice our loud objections when any of our Representatives subject themselves to such lewd behavior.

Let’s face it, Congressman Weiner is a salacious pervert who is subject to lascivious behavior and he had to be removed from office.

Thank God, I say, that the continuous hammering and mocking of this man by the media finally forced him to resign. JOHN DAVIS
