Philip Port ACS Fundraiser A Success

On Tuesday, June 10, members and supporters of the Philip Port Unit of the American Cancer Society gathered at Rockaway Seafood Restaurant in Belle Harbor for the group’s Spring fundraiser. Last year’s luncheon raised over $7,000 in memory of Philip Port, a beloved Belle Harbor resident who died of cancer more than 50 years ago. The local group has raised over $1 million for cancer research in the decades since it was established, through luncheons, memorial cards and other fundraisers.
