Adult Day Program Hosts Prom
It is the season of high school proms throughout New York City and a group of teens from Beach Channel High School recently added to the festivities at the second annual prom for registrants at the Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) program at Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation. Under the supervision of ADHC Director Maryellen Towey, RN, Xiomara Encarnacion, Recreation Therapy Assistant, Adult Day Health Care staff, Transition Linkage Coordinator Cherryann Ferguson and Assistant Principal LaVern Eady from Beach Channel High School, the teens participated in a wonderful and exciting event – complete with special food, decorations, DJ and dancing. The theme of the event was “Friends – Senior to Senior.” The music provided by the DJ, inspired an enthusiastic participation by and lively interaction between senior students and senior registrants.
PCECR welcomes the collaboration among Peninsula’s Adult Day Health Care program registrants, PCECR residents and the Beach Channel High School students. The participation by the students has not only been successful, but has proven to be an exciting and enthusiastic partnership.
