Emergency Room Fight Leads To Arrests
Police arrested a Far Rockaway man and 10 others after a fight broke out in the emergency room of Nassau University Medical Center last Saturday morning.
According to published reports, police responded to the East Meadow emergency room at around 12:30 a.m. after a crowd of people began arguing inside the hospital. The group of men and women who were arrested were reportedly there to visit Rudy Montour, 23, a murder suspect who had been shot earlier in the night during an intense police chase. When police arrived tensions grew and several of the arrestees allegedly made threats to the hospital staff and police officers who then called for backup.
When police tried to arrest Kadeen McDonald, 21, of Hempstead, the suspect allegedly struck the officer. Terrance Pinkard, 21, of Far Rockaway was one of the men and women arrested during the encounter. The defendants were arraigned and charged with riot, obstructing governmental and resisting arrest.
