Should I Believe My Congressman?
When my Congressman stands in the well to speak can I, should I, believe him?
Yesterday he admitted – and only because further allegations were breathing down his neck – that he had lied for seven consecutive days to the press, to his fellow members of the House, to the people of the United States and to his constituents here in Rockaway.
Whether his juvenile photos to young women across the country is, or is not legal is not the issue, my dear Members of The House, what is relevant to me is that he lied point blank to save his own skin and his irrepressible ambition.
I think he should resign immediately, and I think you can all play an invaluable role by assisting him with this very same advice.
