We are so pleased to have him share his vision for public education with the supporters, parents, teachers and staff of Challenge Prep,” stated Rev. Mullings.

Mullings went on to say that, “It is fitting that during our very first year of operation as a school that we honor the service of Linda S. Plummer. Linda serves on our Board of Trustees and is our school’s corporate Secretary. She has been instrumental in helping our school to secure the property at 710 Hartman Lane and has been very active in the remodeling of the building. Her success as a local business owner and her service to so many worthy organizations made it only natural to select her for this award.”

Challenge Prep is in its first full year of operation as a charter school. The school is chartered for grades K-8. During the first year of operation 144 students have been enrolled in grades K-1. The school will add grade 2 during the next school year.

Proceeds from the dinner will be used to further advance the development of the school, in particular the remodeling of the school’s new building.
