Titus Salutes School Crossing Guards
They are responsible for making sure the children of this city safely cross the street when going to and from school. And, according to a resolution passed in the New York State Assembly, “School Crossing Guards of New York State have maintained a perfect record of crossing children to and from school, in all types of weather, during the school year.”
To commemorate that, on the morning of Friday, May 27, Assemblywoman Michele Titus was at PS 183Q to read and present a citation to Crossing Guards attending the event. Joining Titus were principals, parent association presidents, parents and guardians, Chief James Secreto of Queens Borough South, the commanding officers of the 100, 101, 105, 106, and 113 Precincts as she read the resolution honoring New York State Crossing Guards during the week of May 23 to May 27.
The resolution reads, in part, “As the closing of the school year approaches, it is an appropriate time to warmly acknowledge, commend and salute the School Crossing Guards of New York State for their devotion to and care of our children, our most precious resource, throughout the year.”
