Parks’ Teaches Kids To Ride

The new hockey rink at Beach 108 Street was filled with children and their parents on May 21 as the city’s Department of Parks and Recreation held its annual ‘Teach Your Child To Ride a Bike Day.’ Fifty-six children were guided by Parks staff as they got rid of their bicycles’ training wheels and began riding a twowheeler. This was the largest turnout ever for the event, which was previously held at Bayswater Park, Rockaway Parks Administrator Jill Weber told The Wave.

“The kids seem to respond well to our staff and the technique [they used],” said Weber.
