Bill Carlucci, 56, a six-year Rockaway resident died of pneumonia and kidney and liver failure on May 15.
He belonged to the beachside bungalow community in Far Rockaway. Carlucci planted flowers to make the public easement between Beach 25 and 26 Streets prettier and also served as a neighborhood watchdog who reported on illegal dumping and drug use, among other things.
He is survived by his mother from Marco Island, Florida; sister, Donna Racienello and her two children; four brothers and many cousins.
A memorial service is scheduled to be held sometime in the summer months.
