James G. Boyle, a longtime Rockaway resident, died May 11.

Boyle was born in Donegal, Ireland. He moved to Rockaway 18 years ago from Brooklyn and worked as a machinist.

Boyle was preceded in death by his brother, Connel; and sisters, Ellen, Kate and Mary.

He is survived by his sons, Peter and James Boyle; brothers, Patrick and John; sisters, Annie and Sally; and grandchildren, John and Edward; as well as many great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Rockaway Beach. A funeral mass took place at St. Francis de Sales Church, Belle Harbor. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, New York.
