Frances M. Fahey


Frances M. Fahey, a longtime Rockaway resident, died May 9.

Fahey was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Rockaway 45 years ago from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. She worked as a school teacher. She was a World War II Captain Army Nurse who was stationed in France, Germany and Belgium. Fahey was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and Golden Age Club at St. Thomas More Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister for St. Thomas More Church and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion of Breezy Point.

Fahey was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Fahey Sr.

She is survived by her son, Leo J. Fahey Jr. (Karen) and grandson, Sean Fahey.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Rockaway Beach. A funeral mass took place at St. Thomas More Church, Rockaway Point. Interment followed at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.
