The 101 Precinct Community Council has announced the winner of its logo competition for the first ever Rockaway Olympics to be held next year. Nelson Glen, an adult who took part in the contest’s ‘Battle of the Libraries,’ is a daily visitor to the Far Rockaway branch. The contest was open to all children and adults who live on the peninsula.

“The library branches on the peninsula were challenged to get patrons to submit [entries] for the contest,” said Denean Ferguson, the vice president of the 101 Precinct Community Council.

The winning logo, which was selected by the Community Council executive board, was among several submissions from students and adults from across Rockaway.
