Dr. Behar Speaks To PHC Auxiliary
Marc Behar, M.D., Chief, Division of Gynecology at Peninsula Hospital Center addressed the PHC Auxiliary group at its May meeting to help draw attention to National Women’s Health Week from May 8 to May 14. Rather than the customary formal presentation format, Dr. Behar spoke on an informal and more personal basis taking the time to learn about the subjects that were of interest to the diverse group in attendance. “It is so important to take care of yourself if you are a woman, especially because women are generally the care givers who often put their own health needs last,” said Behar. A wide variety of topics were covered including menopause, osteoarthritis, breast cancer, bone density exams, cervical cancer and appropriate screenings. A very interesting question and answer period followed.
As a very active physician serving the Rockaway community for the past fifteen years, Dr. Behar now also has a private practice at Peninsula Hospital Center and treats patients in the Family Health Center.
The PHC Auxiliary meets the first Tuesday of each month in the Meditation Room of Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation at 12 noon. New members and guests are always welcome.
