Red Roses For Admin Day

St. John’s Episcopal Hospital honored administrative assistants and secretaries on Administrative Professionals Day on Wednesday, April 27. All office professionals including administrative assistants, nursing unit clerical staff, and receptionists were honored that day and single red roses were given out as a token of their invaluable contributions to the Hospital and patient care. Today, there are more than 4.1 million secretaries and administrative assistants working in the United States, according to U.S. Department of Labor statistics, and 8.9 million people working in various administrative support roles. In 2000, the name of the day, Secretary’s Day, was changed to reflect the ever-changing role and responsibilities of office personnel.
