Not ‘Absolution’

Dear Editor,

Apparently, you are not familiar with the term “absolution.” You said in your headline relative to the charges against Brother Tom Trager that he was “absolved.”

For your information, absolution is related to the forgiveness for sins committed.

In Brother Tom’s case, absolution is not necessary. He did nothing wrong. The District Attorney’s Office, after close to six months of thorough investigation, found no evidence that would suggest bringing this matter before a Grand Jury.

Brother Tom was never indicted. He was not “absolved.” The case was dismissed. He was found guilty of nothing.

Those of us who know the man, were convinced of his innocence from the beginning. I believe a correction is in order.
