Church Seeks Prom Attire

It’s that time of year again! Young adults are looking forward to their prom celebrations, and for the third year in a row, First Congregational Church of Rockaway Beach is asking the community to scour their closets in the next few weeks for finery that can be shared with eighth-graders at PS/MS 183 on Beach 79 Street.

The church is collecting new or lightly used dresses that would make suitable prom attire, in sizes 8 - 18, and suits for young men in comparable sizes. Items can be brought to the main entrance of the church, located at 320 Beach 94 Street, near the entrance ramp to the Cross Bay Bridge, on Wednesday mornings in the month of May, between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Items will be collected through the end of May.

Pastor Joseph Medlin of First Congregational Church, and Jacquelyn Stillwell, Parent Coordinator at PS-MS 183, thank the community for their past generosity, and look forward to another successful collection effort this year.
