Young Skier Takes In Second USASA Nationals
Isabella Neibel, from Roxbury in Breezy Point, placed second in the country for girls 9 years old and under at Copper Mountain, Colorado during the USASA Nationals competition in the slopestyle event. She also posted a fourth place finish in the skiercross.
This national snowboard and freestyle skiing event, organized by USASA (United States of America Snowboard and Ski Association), brought together over 400 freestyle skiers competing from 40 states and 32 regions around the country.
Neibel is a nationally ranked freestyle skier who qualified as the number one 9 and under female skier for the Catskill Mountain Series. She is a member of the Windham Mountain Freeride Team and the Windham Mountain Freestyle Competition Team.
Sam Neibel, her brother and teammate on the Windham Mountain Ski Teams, also competed in Nationals at Copper Mountain posting a 41st place finish in skiercross and 42nd place finish in slopestyle. The siblings will continue their training this summer at the Lake Placid Ramp Camp held at the Olympic Ski Training Center and are seeking corporate sponsorships.
