100 PCT CC Holds Monthly Meeting



The 100 Precinct Community Council held its monthly meeting on Wednesday night at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Rockaway Beach. Guest speakers were Peter A. Guiney, D.O., medical education director of the Family Practice Residency Program at Peninsula Hospital Center and Dr. Robert Helman, the director of Peninsula Hospital Center’s emergency room. They both discussed the abuse of prescription drugs and painkillers often found inside an individual’s home and that are also illegally obtained. The speakers were asked to appear after the council received numerous e-mails regarding teenage abuse of prescription drugs.
