Rain Can’t Dampen RLL Aces’Performances
Rockaway’s famed Double Dutch group Stan’s Pepper Steppers will compete, along with ot in division ranging from the third grade up to college. There will also be participants competing in the open, novice, advanced divisions, singles and doubles, unattached and will also present a special features allstar division.

Rain washed out the first full weekend of the Rockaway Little League 2011 season but a few pitchers managed to squeeze in strong performances.
In the Pee Wee Senior division, the DJ’s At Work Reds opened the season with two wins. In a 5-3 win over the Quik Fund Mortgage Marlins, Tom Resker pitched two scoreless innings. Kiernan Smith controlled the game from behind the plate and Brendan (BB) Byrne had a bases-clearing triple to open up the game. The second game of the week was an 8-4 win versus the Mak Mint Used CarsDodgers, in which Leon Levy had a huge two-run double. James Resker was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and T.J. McElhinney had a double and single with two RBIs. Colin Byrne threw two scoreless innings.
In the Minor Boys division, John Resker provided a dominant performance for the Orlow Firm Marlins, pitching a one-hit game with five strikeouts against the Allstate Insurance Giants. The Marlins jumped out to a 3-0 lead behind the hitting of Jack Casey, Matthew McCabe and John Resker. RBIs were also chalked up to David Berman, Jacob Mackoff, Daniel Schulger, Dean Hanrahan and Connor Bradwisch. David Hanrahan added a hit, as well. Excellent defensive plays by Terrell Gillings and Matthew McCabe held the Giants to one run.
