Not Ashamed To Sign Name

Dear Editor,

This letter is in response to the article in last Friday’s Wave about PS/ MS114.

While I do not know the circumstance’s behind the “air pistol’’ issue I will not comment which in my opinion is the right thing to do. If you do not know what happened then don’t comment. What I will comment on is the two people who wished to remain name-less. EXCUSE ME but my son who is an 8th grader attends this school and happens to be very smart. I resent the fact you wrote, Mr. wants to remain nameless, that the really bright kids seem to all go to SCHOLARS’ ACADEMY; well I have news for you, we have exceptionally great teachers in this school and great students, also. Don’t blame or make the other kids in the school feel less adequate for one person’s mistake. Which I’m sure that’s what it was; a mistake.

There have been no incidents in the school until now, so why such ridiculous comments about the older grades. Many schools are K through 8 in the city of NEW YORK that when you walk in you have to pass metal detectors; do you see any in our school? I haven’t. By the way, two of my children have attended PS/MS 114 since Pre K and there has never been any so called violence here. You should also know a FACT that 3 kids from 114 were recently accepted to Leon M. Goldstein High School, which you cannot get into on good looks. So think about that before you write or say stupid comments.

A proud parent of 3 children attending PS/MS 114, and not afraid to sign her name.

CATHERINE DIBATTISTA
