Seek 5 In Vicious Assault

By Howard Schwach

Detectives from the 101 Precinct in Far Rockaway are looking for five men who beat and robbed an unidentified 53- year-old clerk at a grocery store late last month.

According to police sources, the five men were looking for cash inside the store at 536 Beach 35 Street at about 10:30 p.m. on March 28. Police say that all of the men were in their 20s.

Officials at the office of the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner for Public Affairs (DCPI) identified the men by what they were wearing and by their outstanding physical characteristics.

In addition, a surveillance camera at the building’s entrance caught some of the wanted men.

Suspect one was wearing a brown leather jacket, blue jeans and black shoes. He is identified as being bald.

Suspect two was wearing a black shirt with a white design on its back, black pants and a doo rag. He has a goatee.

Suspect three was wearing a blue sweatshirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.

Suspect four was wearing a gray sweater with stripes, tan pants, black shoes and a blue watch cap.

Suspect five was wearing blue jeans, a white tee-shirt and had a red bandanna at his waist.

The unnamed victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital Center, where he remains in serious but stable condition.
