At the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria, the United Hospital Fund honored St. John’s Episcopal Hospital volunteer Pearl Barrett and other hospital volunteers from around New York City. St. John’s Episcopal Hospital volunteer Pearl Barrett was honored by the United Hospital Fund at the 2011 Hospital Volunteer Achievement Award Ceremony on Tuesday, March 15 at the Waldorf Astoria’s Grand Ballroom.
Barrett has been a volunteer in the dietary department at St. John’s since 2008. A resident of Inwood, NY, she became a volunteer because she “wanted to give back to the community.” Before Barrett retired she was a nurse’s assistant at Queens Nassau Nursing Home.
