Bag Old Mattresses

Sanitation Rep Says:

Bruno Iciano, a community affairs liaison for the division of customer service of the Department of Sanitation, was in Far Rockaway to speak at this month’s 101 Precinct Community Council meeting recently. Among the topics he spoke about was the new law requiring all mattresses and box springs that are discarded to be sealed in plastic. Bags can be obtained at department stores, home improvement stores or online. The new law is a result of the increased bed bug activity that has hit the city. Call 311 for more information or to make complaints to the department.
