Sorrentino Teams Advance To Citywide Championship

The Sorrentino Recreation Center are proud to announce that two basketball teams won the Queens championship last Saturday in the Jr. Knicks Millen- nium Citywide Basketball Tournament playoffs. The 11-13 team, coached by Rob Lindo, defeated Lost Battalion Hall and will take on the Brooklyn Borough Champions at IS-149 in Staten Island, March 22 at 6:00 p.m.

Team Deuce/Sorrentino, 14-16 year old division team coached by Issac Parsee, beat Al Oerter, and faces Staten Island on March 24 at 6 p.m. in Manhattan.

The Sorrentino 10 and under co-ed team, coached by Rob Lindo, only lost by one point. Pepper Steppers Win

Stan’s Jr. Pepper Steppers won first place in the high school division at the “Celebrate Double Dutch” Tournament in Brooklyn. The Sorrentino Jumpers was tops in the eighth grade division. Peter’s Future Jumpers won first in the third grade-fourth grade novice division. Once Upon a Time finished second in the H.S. division and Just Started was second in the novice division.
