Rockaway Man Shot In Arm

By Howard Schwach

An unidentified 33-year-old Rockaway man was wounded late Tuesday night when he was shot in the arm in front of 1062 Dickens Street in Bayswater, outside the doors of the Bayswater Jewish Center.

Local sources say that the victim, whose identification is being withheld by the police, had a long argument with his assailant prior to the shooting, at about 11:15 p.m. on March 8.

He told police that he did not know the shooter and had no idea where he had gone. Police declined to speak about the altercation that led up to the shooting.

The victim was transported to the North Shore Hospital in Manhasset, where he was treated and released.

Detectives from the 101 Precinct Squad are looking for the shooter. Anybody with information is urged to call the squad at 718-868-3429.
