Conserve, Please!
Dear Editor,
Wouldn’t it be the right thing to do if the President of the United States, in these times of exorbitant fuel charges, proclaims a specific day Low Fuel Day?
On such a day, those citizens who care would show their distain for the oil cartels by finding a more fuel efficient manner of transportation: car pooling, cab sharing, public transportation riding, bicycles, mopeds, walking, whatever ... If this single day effort makes a dent in our over the top consumption of oil, we should try to implement it once a week.
Turn down home heat, better still, turn it off and wear sweat suits. Certainly, our entrepreneurs must press ahead with the development of efficient alternate fuels. We cannot, we must not be held hostage to oil forever.
