The nutritionists at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital celebrated March is National Nutrition Month with a colorful and delicious display on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. National Nutrition Month was declared by the American Dietitic Association as a month for nutrition education and information.
The purpose of the campaign is to focus attention on the importance of making informed food choices.
The winner of the Guess-the-Calorie contest at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital Nutrition Month celebration was Joan Hess, Finance (center), pictured with Stephanie Cordaro, RD (left), and Kathleen Rivera, dietitic intern. Ms. Hess guessed within 1 calorie the calorie content of the winning recipe.
Linda Rivera, Psychiatric Intake Coordinator (left), was the winner of the recipe contest held during National Nutrition Month by dietitians from St. John’s Episcopal Hospita on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Ms. Rivera won for her recipe for “Seafood Pasta” with shrimp and tilapia. Awarding her the prize was dietitian Stephanie Cordero, MS, RD, CDN.
