Sorrentino Center Starts Millennium Tournament

The Sorrentino Recreation Center will have three basketball teams take part on Saturday in the first round of the Jr. Knicks Millennium Citi-Wide Basketball Tournament playoffs.

The Sorrentino 10 and under co-ed team will host their opponent at 10 a.m.

The 11-13 and 14-16 teams will each play at Al Oerter Center in Flushing.

The program is sponsored by Madison Square Garden in cooperation with the City of New York Parks and Recreation. Three on Three Tournament

Current high school players and former high school all-stars will compete for the chance to be crowned the best of the best at the 15th Annual Sorrentino 3 on 3 Full Court Basketball Tournament.

Eight teams will battle in the 13-17 division and the 18 and up division. The 13-17 division gets going on Wednesday night.

On Thursdays and Fridays at 8:15 p.m., the 18 and up division will have some former local high school and college all-stars competing amongst the eight teams featured in the division. Jr. Pepper Steppers

Stan’s Jr. Pepper Steppers will compete in the “Celebrate Double Dutch” Tournament on Saturday, March 12.

The event begins at PS/MS 113, located at 300 Adelphi Street in Brooklyn.
