Aviators Begin Playoffs

The New York Aviators and the Danbury Whalers will meet tonight in the best of five Federal Hockey League semifinal playoffs with Game 1 taking place at 7:05 p.m. The Aviators defeated the Whalers in 13 of their 18 games this season.

The New York Aviators capped off a remarkable season with a 21-game winning streak that led them to a first place in the six-team league finish with a 32-12-2 record. Danbury finished in fourth place at 24-18-5. The Aviators announed tonight is City Workers/Healthcare Appreciation Night sponsored by MCU with free admission for city and healthcare workers!

The second game will be held at Aviator Sports on Saturday, March 5 against Danbury at 7:30 p.m. The winner of the series takes on the victor of the other semifinal contest between second place Akwesasne Warriors and third place 1000 Island Privateers in the championship.

The Aviator Sports Center is located at 3159 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn. Parking is free and all concessions and souvenirs are reasonably priced. The MTA Q35 bus stops in front of the Aviator Sports Center on Flatbush Avenue.
