PS 256 Participates In Super Bowl Plunge

Every year, on Super Bowl Sunday, thousands of Long Beach Long Island Polar Bears brave the frigid water and cold temperatures of the Atlantic Ocean to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Among the plungers are many staff members from PS 256@PS43, a special education school in Far Rockaway. The school services students with multiple needs, and its staff believes that it is important to support the school’s students in a myriad of ways. The school’s staff, joined by the staff of other Rockaway special education schools at St. John’s Residence for Boys and Beach Channel High School, raised $3,240 for the foundation through the sale of sweatshirts and sponsorships.
