Stop The Dirt Bags

Dear Editor,

The tragedy now spreading throughout our land is that many of the victims of the banking and mortgage swindle are now being portrayed as the perpetrators of this massive crime.

The banks knowingly and systematically sold toxic investment products to state and city pension systems. The equivalent of selling used, discarded frying oil as top-shelf extra virgin.

Not one person who devised these crimes has been held accountable nor went to jail. (Bernie Madoff’s ponzi scheme had nothing to do with this.) The criminal CEOs got government bailouts and continue to dish out obscene salaries and bonuses while the state and city pension systems are left holding the bag. Shameful and treasonous acts.

What’s the solution? Blame the teacher, fire, police, and sanitation unions!

The members of these unions, along with mostly everyone else, are the victims, not the reason why cities/ states are financially strapped. Many have lost large chunks of their retirement saving if they invested in the city-sanctioned TDA system.

The spin doctors, Hosni Bloomberg and his paid cronies in the media, portray the city’s unions as bloated elites, who caused the city’s financial meltdown.

Bloomberg knows full well that his friends on Wall Street caused this financial disaster, but he’s moving full steam ahead to blame it on the unions.

The union workforce in the United States went from 35 percent in the 1940s to a present day 12 percent. New York State has the highest union workforce (24%) in the country. No wonder why there is a push to decimate the laws that protect workers and to destroy unions.

The whole country is trying to balance the books on the backs of the middle class, the poor, the seniors, and the children, while the criminals who caused this mess get bailed out and continue to live large. Nationally, the newly elected GOP governors, senators, representatives, and mayors have a vendetta jones against the unions. They see this as a timely chance to put the nail in the coffin of unions for good.

It’s time to rise up (You Go Wisconsin!) against these dirtbags. It’s time for Obama to grow a pair and take a definitive stand on the side of the working class.
