Historical Views of the Rockaways

The Hollywood Cottages, Beach 101 Street, Seaside, Rockaway Beach, N.Y
From The Rockaway Museum Commentary by Emil Lucev, Curator Dedicated To The Memory Of Leon S. Locke

The most recent bungalow fatality in the Rockaways was the demolition of the bungalow colony known as the Hollywood cottages. They were built by the Seaside Improvement Company in about 1911, and torn down for new home construction in the spring of 2004. The bungalow colony would have made the century mark if not for that.

Today, views presents a brochure about the group of bungalows that were still home, winter or summer, to those who loved the place dearly. R.I.P.
