Detectives Seek January Bank Robber


The bank suspect is a white male. The bank suspect is a white male. Detectives from the 100 Precinct and the NYPD’s major case squad are looking for the man who robbed the Capital One Bank branch, 116-01 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, at about 5:15 p.m. on January 5.

Sources said at the time that a tall white man entered the bank near the end of the day and that there were only two customers and five bank employees in the building.

The man, described by police as six feet tall and wearing a black ski mask and gray hoodie sweatshirt, reportedly told the teller that he had a weapon and would shoot if he were not given cash.

The teller gave the man an unspecified amount of cash and he turned and calmly walked out of the bank, turning left on Beach 116 Street, sources said. Bank officials notified the police, who quickly spread out on both the shopping street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard looking for the suspect.
