The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 21, Rockaway Beach, Breezy Point, held their annual golf outing last year and earmarked the proceeds from this day of fun/fundraising to be donated to the St. Camillus Special Athletes. Some of the Hibernians came to the St. Camillus gym and gave a check to Joe Featherston, director of the athletic program, to be used for the activities of the special athletes.

The motto of the Ancient Order of Hibernians is Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity. The Division

21 seeks to aid non-profit organizations both socially and economically. Along with its charitable aspects, the A.O.H. fosters and preserves Irish culture through literature, art, dance, music and sports.

The next golf outing will be September 24, 2011. The Hibernians will be marching in the Rockaway St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 5 and, of course, the St. Camillus Special Athletes will be marching as well.
