Join The NYPD Citizen Academy

The New York City Police Academy is sponsoring the Spring Session of the Citizens Police Academy, which is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 16 at 6 p.m. The Citizens Police Academy is located at 235 East 20 Street (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues), New York.

Topics to be covered are: Behavioral Science, Tactics, Emotionally Disturbed Persons, Stop Question and Frisk, Firearms and Tactics Training, Domestic Violence, Internal Affairs, CCRB, E.O.E, Law, Police Science, Identity Theft, Terrorism, Community Affairs, using role play exercises and workshops.

The Citizens Police Academy is a fourteen (14) week course that will meet on Mondays from 6 p.m. through 9 p.m. All participants MUST attend Police Academy registration on Wednesday, March 16, in the 2nd floor auditorium at 6 p.m. Transportation to and from the Academy will be provided by Transit District #23. Attendees are required to bring a walletsized photo of themselves to the registration process. Attendees must also bring valid photo ID to enter the Police Academy. Upon completion of the course, graduates will receive a certificate. Business or casual business attire must be worn. No jeans or sneakers will be permitted.
