Anna Winchester, 91, a former Rockaway resident, died February 4.
Winchester was born on August 12, 1919 in Rockaway Beach and later moved to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Anna was retired from Jamaica Savings Bank. She was a former member of St. Rose of Lima Church and the Rockaway American Legion Ladies Auxiliary where she served as an officer.
Winchester was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Anna (Meyer) Kummers; husband, Theodore Winchester; and brothers, Emil and Adolf Kummers.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine W. DeLoache (William) of Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Alethea; and sister, Rosemary T. Carroll of Palm Harbor, Florida.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Malpezzi Funeral Home,
Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Memorial services were held at the Messiah Village Chapel, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Interment took place in St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village, New York. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Messiah Village Endowment Fund, 100 Mt. Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
