People Are Angry

The following letter was sent to President Barak Obama.

Dear President,

For years I have been warning the people in my community about the possibility of an all out revolution in America. Surely you cannot ignore that possibility. Mr. President, people are angry at the way our government is being run. The polls show that. More and more each day the people are losing faith in the Congress and the Senate. It could be that you and the Congress have not yet realized the sincerity of the situation. It is extremely disheartening to the millions of people who are losing their homes to foreclosure to pick up a paper and read that the business people made more profits last year that ever before. The people are also aware that those profits were not made in America. It appears to me at least, that our business people are going to other countries, manufacturing their goods there, sticking American labels on them and sending those goods all over the world, and to add insult to injury our elected officials warned that nothing would go forward until we gave those business people tax cuts. Records show that newly elected Speaker of the House, John Boehner got contributions of almost one million dollars from business people in just the past year.

The people are aware that the Banks and Insurance Companies are raking in record bonuses generated by taxpayer’s bailout money. Just try to feel how this looks to someone not able to pay their rent or feed their children. I believe that you are trying to do the right thing, but the right thing you are trying to do falls far too short of being enough. The solution is easy to solve compared to anywhere else on earth. It’s time for you to call in the business people, union leaders, political party leaders and your top advisers for a serious discussion. It’s time for you to poll depressed areas to get the feelings of the people. You will have no problem finding those areas. I believe that time is of the essence.

JOHN BAXTER
