Pheffer Announces Solution To Bayswater Flooding
Assemblywoman Audrey I. Pheffer reported on Wednesday that the New York State Department of Parks and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection will begin work designated to address the constant flooding on Mott Avenue in front of Bayswater State Park.
After numerous meetings to devise a drainage plan that would not impact the environmental sensitivity of the park, DEP has now committed to begin to address this issue. The solution requires that the NYC DEP dig a catch basin just inside the entrance and then trench a drainage pipe to take the water into the park and away from visitors and walking paths. This work is scheduled to begin Friday, February, 11.
