World Champion’s Karate Center

Instructing The Rockaways Since 1971

Competitors are all smiles at a recent event at the dojo. Competitors are all smiles at a recent event at the dojo. World Champion’s Karate Center, under the leadership of Sense Bruce Hodes, has been instructing Rockaway residents in Shotokon (Japanese) Karate since 1971 at his dojo at 112-20 Beach Channel Drive in Rockaway Park.

Over the years, he has taught thousands of men, women and children, and has dozens of coveted black belts.

As students have grown up, they have brought their children to the dojo as well. The sensi’s instructional method, which has been developed over his decades of teaching experience, captures the attention of students of all ages and motivates them to excel.

There is always an open invitation to all to come and observe a lesson and to discuss the competition classes that include pre-k, weapons, cardio and Tai Chi. The dojo can be reached at 718-945-1618.
