Loretta Curry, 51, a longtime Rockaway resident, died January 1.
Curry was born in Harlem Hospital on October 27, 1960. She attended PS 144, Watley Junior High School and went on to study business at Hughes High School.
Curry was preceded in death by her parents Carlie and Emma; daughter, Lavaugh; grandson, Kentell; brother, Carlie; nephew, Marquis; and children’s father, Kevin Adams.
She is survived by her daughter, Tenisha; sons, Jamelle and Lawrence; stepdaughter, Qhadija; grandchildren, Tieliek, Rahmique, Malasia, Quintin and Aniah; sisters Angela, Michelle, Renee and Barbara; adopted sister, La Shawn; brothers, Gregory, Jerome, Otis and Julius; godson, Naquan; eleven nieces, ten nephews, brothersin law, Robert and Albert; sisters-inlaw, Debbie and Latrell; aunts, Mary and Catherine; uncles, Tom, Luis and Joe; sons-in-law, Dante and Ren; best friend, Barbara; friends, Sonny (Lawrence father) and Mickie, her significant other as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. Interment took place at Flower Hills Cemetery, Parlin, New Jersey.
