Rockaway Little League Announces In-Person Registration
Rockaway Little League will have four in-person registration sessions this month; three in the Clubhouse at Fort Tilden and one in Stop & Shop supermarket. This will be the first time in-person registration is available outside the Little League complex.
The dates and locations are: Saturday, January 15 at Stop & Shop; Sunday, January 16 in Fort Tilden and Saturday, January 22 in Fort Tilden.
All sessions will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Early Bird registration fees are $150 for one child, $250 for two children and $350 for three or more children. Fees will increase significantly in February.
Online and mail-in registrations are currently open. The web address for online registration is www.odgroup.com/rockaway-little league. Payment can be made via PayPal, major credit cards or an e-check. Parents may also print the registration form and mail it in with a personal check or money order. Rockaway Little League is also accepting applications for its indoor winter clinic, which began on Tuesday, January 4. The winter clinic will be held at Xaverian High School in Brooklyn.
About 800 boys and girls from Rockaway participate in Rockaway Little League. Since 1995, Rockaway Little League has played all its games at the complex it built in Fort Tilden in Gateway National Recreation Area.
Key dates for the 2011 season are set. The first games will be played the weekend of April 2 and the official Opening Day ceremony is planned for April 9. Player evaluations will be conducted the weekends of March 12 and 19. The league draft for competitive divisions will occur March 24. Our players will march in the St. Patrick’s Day parade (March 5) and the Memorial Day parade (May 30).
